The realistic illustrations are of excellent quality with meticulous detail and a wide variety of backdrops. A paragraph of text describes the plane featured on each page. The fact that this is also an alphabet book is almost secondary. For example, B is for B-17, E is for Electra, M is for Messerschmitt, but few of the planes have any markings that associate them with a specific letter. It is unclear as to why, between Q and R, two pages are devoted to the crash of a remote-controlled model airplane. Great for framing!

My two-year-old loves airplanes and I wanted to decorate his room in planes. I bought this book which had 8x10 pages and framed some of the photo's for decoration on the wall. He loves looking at all the airplanes before bed!

The quality of the pages are not very great, they are more of a matte than a shiny material and are not very thick either. The pages would not hold up to a toddler very well but when they are framed on the wall it looks great.

For those wondering, you could not put both A and B on the wall since those letters would be back to back on a single page. So buy two books if you plan on framing all the pages or want to frame a series in alphabetical order.

Absolutely Stunning Illustrations!

My two-year-old son absolutely adores this book, even though the writing is directed at children above his age. He wants to go through the alphabet over and over with me (and yes, there are airplanes for every letter, including the Xandu and the Yak), stopping at his favorites. No jet aircraft are included in this book, with the possible exception of the Osprey, which the text admits is an unusual inclusion in the book; however, both military and civilian propeller-driven airplanes are included.
The text, as I mentioned, is clearly aimed at children older than two. I am very pleased with the text; it is clear and simple but it doesn't talk down to young readers. It gives interesting tidbits of information about the various aircraft and explains the basics of how airplanes fly.
Although each letter is prominantly featured in both upper and lower case, the focus of the book is really not the alphabet. The alphabet forms a backdrop and theme for the gorgeous illustrations of airplanes. The realism and minute detail make this a book older children, who already know the alphabet, would like to possess. In fact, I know quite a few adult aviation fans who would love to receive this as a holiday gift! My son easily spends a half an hour to forty-five minutes just looking at the pictures--a VERY high compliment from any two-year-old.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves airplanes. It would not be my first choice for teaching my son the alphabet, but he is certainly learning to love books and to love airplanes!

Flying High with Jerry Pallotta books!

Our three-year-old grandson borrowed a copy of this book from their local library in Chantilly, VA. He had it memorized in three days! This book even helps him identify airplanes at the nearby Air Museum, Dulles airport. I just HAD to buy a copy for our house when he visits. I also bought some of Jerry Pallotta's other books .... look for these, as well. Thanks, Jerry and all the artists!

This book was very helpful. I was goint to spend $600 doing a detoxification, including supplements and hydrotherapy. But I decided to buy Dr. Jensen's book and try the 11 day detoxicification he writes about on my own. It was a great success. I feel healthier and learned a lot about my body. I also lost 14 pounds and look foward to staying on this healthy path.

Always Right

I purchased this book some time ago because I already owned a number of other books written by Bernard Jensen, only to find out I needed this books advice when I found out I had leaky gut syndrome. The book makes not mention of the disease as it hadn't been diagniosed when it was first written, I was going to do a full course of 12 Colonic Irrigations and spend a fortune on naturopathic supplies, i'm not totally cured but I am 100% better i.e. the sugar/alcohol cravings are gone, memory is better, energy levels are better etc

I have read many of Dr.Jensen's books. This one is a thin book, with the "nuts and bolts" for caring for your internal body. This is what every person should be taught in school, how to maintain a healthy internal body environment. From info on cleansing to daily care. A good starter book and reference manual. I like to give this book to people I care about, that have not thought about internal health. It doesn't overload you with alot of background information.

Dale Ewen, Executive Vice President of Parkland College, Illinois, (1999-present), graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in 1963 and an M. Ed. in 1966. He has been the recipient of several AMATYC (American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges) awards and served as the organization's President (1989-91). Dale continues to write a number of technical mathematic textbooks.

Gundersen is teaching physics at Pascack Valley High School in New Jersey.

Excellent

After failing my first Physics exam, I purchased this book and have Aced my exams since. It is an absolute for anyone taking Physics. The information and review problems helped me to learn the formulas and understand the dynamics of physcis. I recommend it for all those seeking to achieve success in all they aspire!

Great High School Physics book

I am retraining for a new career and am currently using this textbook in class, as such I have not read the entire thing word for word. It is the kind of book I would have liked to have had when I first had physics in High School. It is very clear and simple with lots of diagrams and illustrations explaining the theory that is being discussed. Although to me, as an adult, many of the photographs seem gratuitous and superfluous, they would clearly be beneficial in the sense of a visual reward to young students who may find textbooks a bit dry and plodding. I might have called it "Chicken Soup for the Young Scientist". ;-) I agree with the reviews that question the ongoing "new edition" syndrome. Give kids a break on the textbook fees. Go ahead and change the problems in the workbooks though. Those could become a nice database for quizzes and exams. I think the index could use some work. I did not find any entries for satellite, rocket or dynamics. If they are not mentioned in the text I would have to revise my otherwise positive view of this textbook. I believe textbooks should be permanent life-long references.
